Ok, so a lot has happened in the wedding planning world, we are well on our way to having this thing planned and done with no major breakdowns or mishaps. Here are the details so far:

Reception: Magnolia Ballroom
Florist: The Cutting Garden
Cake Lady: Royal Icing
Photographer: Kyle Barnes
Colors: Green (some shade), Choc Brown, and Ivory
So, needless to say, we got a lot done this weekend. We had a large group for the cake tasting, My mom and dad, Adam, and his mom, and Melinda. Lots of opinions, and that was just on the taste part, the design part was even more confusing. We were pulling the silk flowers off of her other cakes to design ours. She was so great, and didn’t seem to mind too much, but I would recommend if you are getting married, only go with yourself, the groom, and your wedding coordinator if you have one, otherwise it can get a little hairy, but it was a fun experience to say the least. We still have a lot of details to plan, but the wedding favors, invitations, linens, dj, and specialty napkins have all been picked out, so I feel much less stressed out than before. We are still however looking for a cool ceremony site, so if anyone knows of a cool church near downtown, that might be open the day after Thanksgiving, let me know.
In other news, Adam is loving his job. I haven’t hung out with anyone from there, but it sounds like everyone is very personable and welcoming, I seriously haven’t seen him this happy in so long, the Lord has been so so faithful! He really seems to be enjoying his work assignments, and so far they seem to like all his designs and ideas, so I am just so happy for him. The drive thing is a little different, so I think he might be moving up to Spring until we get married, which would be tough not seeing him everyday, but we’ll get through it.
So that’s about it. This weekend I am moving all of my stuff out of the old house where I lived in Montrose for 18 months, that’s a long time, it doesn’t seem that long ago. It seems like yesterday Liz and I moved in and were throwing our first party. A lot has changed in a year and a half, and now Stacey is moving in there, so I still get to go to all of the parties
I know that they will have a blast there, and that she’ll enjoy getting to meet all of the interesting neighbors who stretch in their biker shorts without shirts on in their front yards, oh the memories. I like the new little place that I’m staying in, I think Emme likes it more because she gets to go for walks 4 times a day and chase the runners, squirrels, and anything else that moves, but it is an adjustment, but sometimes change is good.
I think that through all of this, I am learning to not hold onto things so tightly. I feel like the week before I got engaged, the Lord just started re-arranging my life. At first it was hard, and not so easy, moving, engagement, new jobs, lost jobs, friendships changing, relationships changing, life just changing. And it will keep changing, and it just seems like we get so set in our ways, and the way we want our lives to be, that there is no room for change, there is no room for the Lord to move because we have set the box of our lives, and we get uncomfortable when anything comes along to shake it. But I have definitley felt like my box has been tipped upside down, and kicked across the yard, but not in a bad way, I needed some change in my life, I need to learn to adapt better to ever changing situations, because that’s just the way life is. But it makes it so much easier when we rely on the Lord and use Him as our centerpoint, He should be the one I cling to, because He never changes. What a relief! To know that there is only one thing in this world that doesn’t change, and that’s Jesus Christ.
Ok I’ll get off of my soap box for now, I got a little preachy there. Anyways…wow 3 posts in one day, I am making up for lost time. Hope you all have a great weekend!!!
